The result is a blend in which jazz rock, punk funk and even reggae vie for attention. Since the departure of turntablist Ènio Ramalho in 2015, Stöma is a duo again, just the way Bruno Ferro Xavier da Silva (vocals, bass, loops, effects) and Wouter van Wijk (drums) started out back in the mid-2000s. Van Wijk can play both heavy and virtuoso, while Ferro Xavier da Silva loops his bass lines, freeing his hands to apply all sorts of psychedelic effects to the music.

In the meantime, the vocalist raps texts filled with esoterics, numerology and literary science fiction. With their rhythmic and melodious music filled with unusual timing, the duo succeeds in transcending the idea of a rhythm section.
